I was born and raised in Upstate New York. After graduating high school, I worked in customer service related positions. Several years later, I relocated with my parents to Florida and joined my parents in running our family business. However, this wasn't what I wanted for a career. It became apparent that I wanted to become a hairdresser when I would bring my son home from the barber shop and have to fix his uneven haircuts!
Soon after this realization, I enrolled in a local cosmetology school and graduated in December of 1991. I was honored to have my instructor, who also owned a barber/beauty salon in east Fort Myers, extend me an immediate position to join his staff. When he eventually sold his business, I went to North Fort Myers and worked in a salon there.
Having accumulated both proficiency and experience, in 2004, I was hired as an instructor at my former cosmetology school. I enjoyed interacting with the students; helping them formulate colors, permanent wave analysis's, checking their client’s haircuts, and giving them ideas from my own personal experiences. As much as I liked teaching, it was clear that my passion was more hands on and realized that I needed to be back behind the chair, doing what I love; having a more personal interaction with my own clients. So I chose to go back into a privately owned salon in the southern area of Fort Myers where I felt I could prosper and grow a clientele.
In 2014, with the strong support and encouragement of my clients, I took a leap of faith and began working in my own suite at Salon Plex in Fort Myers. I attribute my success through building client satisfaction, trust and referrals. What my clients appreciate most and frequently tell me is that I listen to what they want done with their hair, their long-term goals and that I don't just do what I want. They trust me to give them honest suggestions and opinions of what would be the best style for them. I feel so blessed when they are overjoyed and happy with their results! I frequently receive e-mails, texts and calls expressing their gratitude and how much they love their hair.
Making my clients feel good about themselves is one of my greatest desires. When someone chooses and entrusts me with their hair, I strive to do my best to make them look beautiful/handsome. I love and enjoy what I do and would appreciate the opportunity to serve you.
I live in Lehigh Acres with my husband; have 2 sons, an amazingly adorable grandson and a precious granddaughter! I am an active member of my church, have enjoyed singing in the choir and helping in the nursery.
